McGregor and Chandler get Physical

Tuesday, July 4 saw the return of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), as episode 6 aired.

This week’s episode saw Lee Hammond of Team McGregor, taking on Team Chandler’s Kurt Holobaugh, and let’s just say, he didn’t fare too well.

Holobaugh caught Hammond in a guillotine in round 2, and it was light’s out for Conor’s boy. This defeat meant that Team McGregor now stands at 0 – 6. Yikes.

The pressure of losing clearly got to Conor, as he got into a verbal altercation with Chandler, before the two get face to face with Conor shoving Chandler and Dana White stepping in before anything else could happen. McGregor vs Chandler is looking likelier by the week.

With the latest Celebrity Boxing event being headlined by boxing icon Roy Jones Jnr taking on bodybuilder and social media “influencer” NDO Champ (with Jones picking up the win in the 7th round by technical knockout, who knows which celebrities and MMA legends will cross paths in November.

Joe Rogan to be at UFC 290

Joe Rogan is a name that was once synonymous with the UFC. Nowadays however, he is perhaps best known for his podcasting, with his Podcast ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ widely regarded as one of the best podcasts ever conceived.

On July 8 however, when UFC 290 rolls into Vegas, the hugely popular, and somewhat controversial podcaster will return to color commentary, alongside former UFC heavyweight champ Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier, along with Jon Anik covering the play-by-play duties.

With Rogan back behind a mic on UFC TV, he’s sure to bring in a few additional viewers.

Alistair Overeem Goes Veggie

Those familiar with Alistair Overeem will no doubt remember how huge he used to be when he competed as a heavyweight. The Dutchman in his prime, stood at 6ft 4 inches tall, and weighed in at a whopping 260-pounds. He was ripped, vascular, muscular, and even made Brock Lesnar look average sized.

After recently failing a drugs test at Glory Collision 4, he indicated that he is done with MMA, despite signing a contract with the organization. Recent pics, however, indicate that he is likely retired.

‘Shocking’ images emerged online showing Overeem looking skinny and frail. The reason, he revealed, is that he has given up meat and is now a vegetarian. Overeem now eats for health and consumes a lot of fruit and follows an Alkalizing diet for health reasons.
